Edison and Franklin too of the best swindlers to ever have lived between them having invented (or claimed to) so many different things and institutions. The all important question is who would win in a battle of magic tricks.

So lets get to know our magical combatants.

Thomas Alva Edison.

Born February 11 1847 in Milan Ohio

Died October 18th 1931

Edison had 6 children to his two wives is credited with inventing the light bulb and help to set up Americas electrical grid.

now some quotes from the eloquent man.

“I have not failed i have just found 10000 ways that wont work”

“The chief function of the body is to carry the brain around”

“Hell there are no rules here, we are trying to accomplish something”

“Five percent of the people think; ten percent of the people think they think;
and the other eighty-five percent would rather die than think.”

“There’s a way to do it better – find it.”

so How about his opponent

Benjamin Franklin

Born January 17 1706

Died  April 17 1790

father to three legitimate children

one of Americas founding fathers he was the first post master of the united states. An inventor, Freemason,  newspaper man, ambassador to France and Sweden, he is also credited with discovering electricity.

and again some quotes from his elegant head

“Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing.”

“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”

“In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is Freedom, in water there is bacteria.”

“Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.”

“The best thing to give to your enemy is forgiveness; to an opponent, tolerance; to a friend, your heart; to your child, a good example; to a father, deference; to your mother, conduct that will make her proud of you; to yourself, respect; to all others, charity.”

so which of these writers statesman and inventors is the biggest swindler and can invent the greatest magic trick.

while Franklin is probably the smarter of the two Edison spent years working alongside Tesla. He would no doubt convince the man to lend a hand as he was absolutely not above cheating. But while he had Tesla make the best tricks, Franklin would be befriending and bribing the judges ultimately leading to his victory.
